He opened his eyes and forced himself to regain his composure. There was no way in hell he would let Nate down. He stood and glanced at his watch. He hadn’t heard from his husband since before he left for work. Yeah, so Nate was in the suite across the hall. It still bugged the hell out of him that he had yet to see his husband. Chris rubbed his forehead. His anxiety was getting out of control again. His desire to keep his family close was overriding common sense.
You’ll see him at lunch like you always do.
It sounded great, but his gut wasn’t having any of it. It told him to get over to Nate’s office right now.
To hell with it. “I’m supposed to trust my heart? Then, okay, I will. Right now my heart and gut are telling me to go check on my husband.”
He hurried out of his office and went past his secretary without a word.
